Peg's Lasagna


Meat Sauce:
1lb. sausage meat, browned and drained
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. basil
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c.  tomatoes
12 oz. tomato paste

Cheese mixture:
3 c. cottage cheese
2 c. parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp. parsley
3 beaten eggs
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. Pepper

1 lb. Mozzarella sliced.
12  lasagna noodles - cooked and drained.


Make a sauce of the meat, tomatoes and spices. Simmer for 2 hour. Cook and drain the noodles. Stir together the cheese mixture ingredients. Layer noodles, cheese mixture , meat sauce, and cheese slices. Repeat layers. Bake in a 9x13 pan for 1 2 hours at 375F. Remove from oven and let stand for five minutes before serving.
