Eser’s Red Cabbage

Ingredients

small head red cabbage
large onion
apple
3 whole cloves
1-1/2 tsp. salt
cooking oil
3 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. sugar

Method

Heat oil in a large saucepan. Dice & sauté onion and apple. Finely chop cabbage and add to pot with 1/2 c. water, cloves. Simmer for 1 hr. Add sugar and vinegar, remove cloves and thicken with a little corn starch. Best served the next day.
